For the 1993-1994 IHL season, the league consisted of 13 teams in four divisions. The divisional alignment from 1992-93 was discarded and the Knights found themselves in the Midwest Division along with Milwaukee, Kansas City, and the Russian Penguins (a traveling team of Red Army all-stars that played one game at each of the 13 IHL teams).
